Seventeen years ago today, I married the most perfect man in the universe. No, for real. He looks like Thor, he is kind and compassionate, and he does the dishes.
In my career as a zookeeper, I consider myself very blessed. I’ve worked with the largest land mammal, elephants, and the largest land predator, polar bears. I’ve swam with dolphins, snorkeled with sharks, and rescued manatees, given otters high-fives and snuggled owls.
I finished The Nature Principle and was going to type up notes from the book, but I’ve been a little pre-occupied by other projects. I’ll be sure to get the notes out before the end of my Experience Nature project. Some of the information in the book is too important not to share.
I felt I had a lot in common with Drew Manning. Well, I wasn’t a personal trainer who couldn’t figure out why my clients didn’t get it. But I was a zookeeper who couldn’t figure out why it was so hard to convey conservation messages to zoo visitors.

I’ve often wondered how it would feel for someone to love me so much, they peed whenever they saw me. I’m having a little issue taking my own advice today. Stay positive. The difficulties getting into the published world of writing is becoming more and more clear. I know I have what it takes to stay the course, but I’m wondering if it’s worth it.
I’m definitely no beauty queen, but I recognize that taking care of myself doesn’t only apply to my diet and exercise program. Daily hygiene is definitely a part of ZooFit, as they are habits we can take to the next level while still promoting a healthy environment. Some of these habits include brushing and flossing…
(Wow, the year was so overwhelming for me I wanted to skip right over it and go into the best and worst of 2018). I’ve heard from quite a few people I know well and people I don’t know at all about how bad 2017 was. I’m not going to lie. It wasn’t the best…
It’s the new year, and I’m a little late on the uptake for new year’s resolutions, but I agree it’s better late than never. I do personally like making new year’s resolutions. A brand new start with fresh ambition and a strong motivation to succeed. I usually have a plethora of both in January.
