International Save the Vaquita Day

What is the most endangered marine mammal in the world? It’s the adorable vaquita porpoise, with a depressingly low population of as few as 10 individuals. If any animal needs a day for raising awareness, it’s the vaquita. Luckily, today is International Save the Vaquita Day. Find Your Sacred Space

This past month has really been sending me signals to work on Experience Nature segment of my book, specifically in the area of Find Your Sacred Space. Because all this month I have been inundated with events and incidents revolving around my love of the ocean. Tonight was no different. I watched a movie that literally broke my heart. 100 Ways of EarthFit- Day 11: Tuna recipes

Whenever I’m cooking, I have several questions in mind.  First, is the food healthy?  Can I make the recipe healthier?  Can I substitute something with less saturated fat or fewer calories?  Second, is the food sustainable?  Is eating this food contributing to the decline of certain species?  Is it farmed, caught, killed, harvested, or produced in sustainable ways?  And lastly, is the recipe flexible?  If I didn’t come up with the recipe myself, I tweak it a bit until I have a recipe I created on my own.  Can I change the flavors without losing the taste?  Will my picky husband eat it?   Read More “100 Ways of EarthFit- Day 11: Tuna recipes”
